Tetra EX 20 Filter with large filter pad w/ carbon?
The TEX20 uses a medium Filter Cartridge but all I have until I go to the store are large pads, would the carbon that goes with the large pad be too much for my tank (20 gallon)? Could it harm/kill my fish?
The large pad does fit into the filter just fyi.
there is no reason to change the pad (aside from structural failure), quite a number of baneficial bacteria live in it, just rinse it in water removed from the tank while doing a water change if its dirty
(changing it might lead to a ammonia spike as some bacteria were removed, however there is no side effect related to using a bigger filter pad, besides the before-mentioned)
